 Dennis Olszewski began his career in the Stone Industry in 1985, supplying field stone to customers in the Central Wisconsin area. He soon branched out into a variety of stone materials which allowed him to expand his customer base to encompass the entire Midwest. By 1990, Halquist Stone Company had become his largest client, purchasing more than fifty percent of his yearly stone production. During the late nineties, sandstone veneer became his primary product and Dennis began to search for a quarry which could guarantee his sandstone output.
Dennis realized that he had found the ideal source for his product when he discovered an untapped natural sandstone ridge close to Stevens Point. In order to develop this find to its greatest potential, Dennis recognized that he needed a partner who had both capital and a national sales force. The Halquist Stone Company immediately came to mind, and Dennis proposed that his longtime clients become his partners in this new venture. They agreed, and Badger Sandstone LLC was opened for business in April of 2004.
The beautiful sandstone we quarry has a rugged texture with subtle earth tones of crème and tan to rusty brown. Badger Sandstone building stone is available in full 4” masonry veneer or “Thinstone”. We also produce a complete line of Badger Landscape Stone products including flagstone, retaining wall stone, outcropping, boulders and steppers.
